Professional development brief for artists
Led by SVA and supported by Create Gloucestershire
The scheme is a pilot project, which in essence is a budget is set-aside for individual artists to choose how to fund their own professional development, with support provided by an experienced arts producer, director, manager or educator.
Who can apply?
Artists based in Gloucestershire wishing to receive support, advice and guidance to work in schools. We are interested in supporting artists at any stage in your career. If you have no previous experience in arts education this will not count against you. The project is designed to help support you on your next stage of professional development.
How much can I apply for?
Between £50 -£1000.
What can I apply for?
A budget has been set-aside for individual artists to choose how to fund their own professional development, with support provided by an experienced arts producer, director, manager or educator. The funding could cover costs for training, materials, equipment, mentoring and pilot workshops in schools.
Two deadline dates : Friday 10th February and Friday 2nd March
The project must be completed by April 20th
There will be an evaluation/ seminar day in May

Matt Roberts Arts at SVA

Following five years of producing international touring exhibitions and providing artists' professional development support Matt Roberts Arts is partnering with SVA to provide a series of one-to-one feedback sessions and a lecture entitled 'What is the Artworld'. The lecture would be based on Matt Roberts Arts ongoing research into the development of the commercial sector, not just in the UK but also across Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, Australia and New Zealand. Exploring how the public and private sectors have evolved in each region, and where new opportunities may lie.
If you would like to attend feedback sessions they will take place between 10.00 and 18.00. Each event session will last 45 minutes. Please bring a CD or portable data device with 3-8 images of work, artist's CV and statement.
The evening lecture will take place from 7.30pm - 9pm and examines the relationship between the public and commercial sector in different countries.
