SSF26: Mother Vera

  • Brunel Goods Shed Station Road Stroud, England, GL5 United Kingdom (map)

Stroud Film Festival

Sunday 8th March, 4:30pm - 8:30 pm

The Goods Shed

Mother Vera is the visually stark and striking film inspired by co-director Alys Tomlinson's photographic series Ex-Voto. In a hidden Orthodox monastery in Belarus, the film weaves the inner world of Vera, an unorthodox young nun, with the community surrounding her that saved her life.

After the screening Anna Gormley & Hatty Bell (of PLOT Collective) will join one of the film directors for a Q&A.

The Goods Shed simulates the aesthetics of the film - bring your base layers, blankets and hot water bottles.

The bar will be open and hot drinks will be available.

Tickets: £8 adv / £10 on door
