Falle Nioke
Falle Nioke is a singer and percussionist from Guinea Conakry, West Africa. Since arriving in the UK four years ago, after a period travelling around West Africa, singing with a troupe of musicians and learning different cultural rhythms, the 35-year-old has been making music with a number of producers, including Ghost Culture, sir Was, Congo Natty and Johan Hugo. Falle Nioke built on his significant fan base in Guinea by signing to London label PRAH Recordings to release Youkounkoun EP, a collaboration with Ghost Culture.
New Regency Orchestra
Inspired by the musical melting pot of NYC in the 1950s but channeling the punch and power of a whole host of London’s best Latin and jazz musicians, New Regency Orchestra are one of London's most electrifying acts. An 18-piece Afro-Cuban big band, they blow new life into some of the finest music from that golden era, when jazz luminaries like Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker were joining forces with Cuban greats like Machito and Chano Pozo.
From early 1950s René Hernandez and Tito Puente, through to the 1970s salsa of Rafael Labasta and Orlando Marin, produced and performed with fresh fire, their debut album has been getting plaudits and plays far and wide.
