✿ ABOUT THE ARTISTS ✿
MERMAID CHUNKY
Freya and Moina are two visual artists and musicians from Stroud and South London, places where they importantly found communities (Stroud’s SVA and the capital’s Total Refreshment Centre) of like minded people just as willing to chase down an idea to its possibly illogical conclusion.
And it is in the collective and the idea of participation that Mermaid Chunky really clicks. This is a party, a collective dance, made all the better with more: people, ideas, layers, kick drums, recorders, saxophones, frogs.
“A brilliantly unhinged mix of performance art, music and theatrical chaos.” — Crack Magazine
“The danceable, costumed, curiosity rich duo… as imaginative as they profess.” — DFA Records official bio
“Their music could expand your brain or rearrange all its compartments entirely.” — NME
“Delighting in playfulness, performance art and ambient-folk reveries…” — The Guardian

HALF PINT THEATRE
half-PINT! is a grassroots performance collective that devises theatrical productions and live events with three core values: participation, playfulness and seasonality.
Underpinning our work is the renegotiation of pantomime conventions and aesthetics; we believe in pantomime’s political potential as a form of highly accessible storytelling, queering its traditions to disrupt hierarchies and invite collective play.

CORPSING THEATRE
Corpsing Theatre Company presents Knock Down, the Life and Times of John Tabernacle, a new experimental theatre show led by Middleton Maddocks.
John Tabernacle has died and been reincarnated as a building.
Join us from inside his head
as he is troubled by his past…

VOMITON
Vomiton Collective lead by Kiera Saunders, bringing u the paper máche costume team, whose motto is ‘art made from rubbish isn’t rubbish art.’
The vomit creative release was inspired by the stockpiling panic surrounding supermarkets at the start of the pandemic. The absurdity of fast-paced food consumption in plastic packaging, naming our Vomiton characters Aquafaba, Mary pea-kins and Haggis Mantis.
Our more recent works surround performance themes of clowning, the fool, and the anonymous.
Our last art performance was the ‘Birth of Mirth’ — inspired by the anonymous painting ‘concert in the egg’ supposedly by Hieronymus bosh.
The performance included a giant talking egg and hilarious technical faults..
In true Vomitonounmous style.
Later we discovered our performance made its way to tik-tok
and we went viral with comments like
“that's enough for today.”

TEKHOLE
ANCESTRAL ECHOES COLLIDING WITH FUTURISTIC CHAOS
Tekhole is a multi-genre DJ, producer and radio host. Their genre-fluid sound is shaped by the heavy basslines of Gqom and untamed tribal percussion. Firmly rooted in breaks and bass, their fast-paced soundscapes include a mixture of electro, techno, and UK Funky.
Through their resident shows on Radio Buena Vida and Clyde Built Radio, Tekhole uses the airwaves as an introspective portal, exploring feelings of home, sonic kinship and collective consciousness.
