Roll up, roll up! It’s time for another midweek Penny Gaff ‘school night’ special- the annual return of the mighty ROB AUTON with his latest Edinburgh sell-out show. There will be laughter and poetry and beauty and warmth and maybe a bit of happy crying and when you leave the world will look a little different and you will be kinder to everyone and everything. Even if you were kind enough anyway.
Hosted by lo-fi poet and stand-up theatremaker JONNY FLUFFYPUNK, who’ll do a bit to start things off. And maybe there’ll be a silly competition, but it’s not giuaranteed.
Here’s Rob himself with the lowdown-
‘Rob Auton here, I’m chuffed to be coming back to Stroud to do a show in The Goods Shed. The show is called ‘The Eyes Open and Shut Show’. This is a show about eyes when they are open and eyes when they are shut. With this show I wanted to explore what I could do to myself and others with language when eyes are open and when they are shut. After writing ten comedy/theatre/spoken word shows on specific themes including the colour yellow in ‘The Yellow Show’, the sky in ‘The Sky Show’ and myself in ‘The Rob Auton Show’ I wanted to think about what makes me open my eyes and what makes me shut my eyes. The show will involve words and the audience shutting their eyes and opening their eyes at specific points’
