Street Wisdom comes to Stroud.
Anna Rae-Jones of www.everyleaf.co.uk leads free monthly groups hosted by the SVA. Each event will enable participants to take a mindful look around Stroud town centre on market day, in order to find individual answers and meaning, followed by sharing with the group at the end.
Free tickets are available via the Street Wisdom website, Tickets are required as places are limited.
What is it?
Street Wisdom is a global social enterprise led by volunteer facilitators on city streets across the world. Free Street Wisdom workshops give participants the skills to access the ‘invisible university’ that’s all around them and find fresh answers to personal or work-related questions.
The results can be profound, in just three hours of walking and wandering can leave participants having resolved problems that have dogged them for years, found new business ideas, changed careers, discovered new directions, and learned how to deal differently with living, learning and loving.

Matthew will be exhibiting a series of works made intermittently over the last twenty years. Using what he refers to as a process of ‘call and response’ these small works use combinations of found materials to develop images that over time have formed the starting point for groups of larger works on paper and in cloth.

Honouring the rhythmic lineage of reggae, jazz dance, hip hop, soul, disco, afro cuban, latin, spiritual house, broken beat, techno, UK Garage, Asian Underground, Eastern breaks, Grime and Drum & Bass.

13 piece ensemble with 9 saxophones, led by Will Gregory, explore the canon of influential American composer Moondog (aka The Viking of Sixth Avenue), the blind American musician and composer, who influenced everyone from Leonard Bernstein to Philip Glass.

Join us for our 10th Pecha Kucha Night at SVA on Tuesday September 29th. 8 visual artists present their work in the brilliant 20/20 format : 20 images / 20 seconds per image - an exciting, generous, tender, performative, adrenalin rush dive into each artist’s practice with a full and engaged audience in the bar at SVA with mc Nick Grellier.

Trombonist, composer, bandleader, and a Tomorrow’s Warriors Emerging Artist, Christ-Stéphane Boizi is already making his mark on the London jazz scene, but his reputation is set to soar with the news that he has signed to Mark Kavuma’s Banger Factory Records label, with his debut LP As The Spirit Leads scheduled for release later in the year.
