Round up #3 STANLÆY with Ishmael Ensemble

  • The Goods Shed Station Approach Stroud, England, GL5 3AP United Kingdom (map)

8-11pm Goods Shed

An all new monthly event for The Goods Shed. "Round Up" sees Bristol group Ishmael Ensemble team up with d&b audiotechnik for a unique 360 degree soundscape experience.
Each month will see a different headline act from the wider jazz scene perform "in the round" for an intimate and innovative show.
------
Following another beautiful night of music in December, we're delighted to kick off the new year by inviting Bethany Stenning's incredible world of STANLÆY to the Round Up stage whilst Ishmael Ensemble's Stephen Mullins (Guitar) & Jake Spurgeon (Modular Synth) warm things up with an ambient soundscape performance.

"The lyrical narratives of STANLÆY explore surrealist takes on how human life in the modern world is juxtaposed with our ancient relationships to nature. These ideas, alongside contemplations about consciousness and free will, are set to a series of hallucinatory, twilight sound worlds with virtuoso post classical arrangements, haunting folk melodies and a deft palette of subtle and ever evolving textures. Fairy tale chamber pop for the 21st Century."

 Featuring:

Bethany Stenning - Vocals, Guitar & Harp

Naomi Hill - Violin

Ben Holyoake - Bass

Alun Elliot-Williams - Guitar / W
