un:made is a week-long exhibition and residency by Jo Hepburn that treats sculpture as a live process rather than a fixed outcome. At its centre are “sculptural suits”, modular, wearable forms assembled from reclaimed and improvised materials. These hybrid objects are unstable, sometimes worn, sometimes shed, sometimes collapsing into systems that become new sculptures. Across staged iterations, the sculptures and the gallery space are continuously reconfigured, revealing the tension between making and unmaking. What normally happens behind the scenes, the rehearsal, the breakdown, the repair, is laid bare, turning failure and unpredictability into creative tools. By embracing humour, fragility, and accident, un:made shifts sculpture from an untouchable object into an evolving system, accessible, absurd, and alive in the act of becoming.
