Events Marketing and Site Festival Assistant

Summary

Stroud Valley Artspace (SVA) is a cultural hub created by and for artists in the heart of Stroud. For the last 30 years it has offered studio, exhibition, events space and opportunities for artists' professional and creative development. SVA is filled to the brim with artistic activity throughout the year; providing cultural experiences and opportunities to enjoy contemporary art, experimental music and performance events. We take pride in our community of artists and audiences and we are now reaching out to grow our creative team to help us continue our work.

Type of Person We Are Looking For

We need a bright, enthusiastic and articulate person who is self-motivated and very committed to developing their arts management and marketing skills. Artistic skills and experience are desirable but not essential.

Role Details

Salary: £25,974 - £27,898 pro rata based on a 37-hour week, depending on experience (approx. £10,530 - £11,310 per year for 15 hours per week)

Contracted hours: 15 hrs per week to fall within SVA's office hours Tues-Fri, 10am-3pm. Flexible additional hours may occasionally be required for some evening and weekend work (details on how this time is compensated to be confirmed at interview).

Duration of contract: 12 months, to be reviewed at the end of the period with the possibility of renewal, subject to funding and performance.

Trial period: 6 weeks

Start date: End of October

Purpose of the Role

This role sits at the heart of SVA, covering event marketing and Site Festival assistance alongside office administration. The role will support SVA's team in building new audiences, deepening engagement with our artistic community, and strengthening our financial sustainability through earned income. We're looking for someone who loves visiting exhibitions and arts events, and feels at ease connecting with artists, visitors and audiences.
