Summertime is the finest time for jazz. This session hosts the awesome sax player Edi May.
Set in the comfortable subdued lounge setting, each will feature a performance by the house band and guest. Second Thursday of every month at SVA.
Edi’s opening performance will be followed by our usual energeti-frenetic jam for all-comers to play, sing, or listen.

Travels Over Feeling, the result of extensive research by author Richard King, brings together the largely unseen handwritten scores, lyrics, photos, letters and drawings found in both Arthur’s archive and other private collections, alongside wide-ranging original interviews with his collaborators, contemporaries, family and friends.

In Everything We Do is Music, Elizabeth Alker shines a light on the fertile ground that exists between the borders of classical music and pop. She showcases the innovators of the former and their fans and collaborators in the latter, and explores how together these artists challenged the notion that such musical worlds are mutually exclusive.

Brunel Goods Shed
13 piece ensemble with 9 saxophones, led by Will Gregory, explore the canon of influential American composer Moondog (aka The Viking of Sixth Avenue), the blind American musician and composer, who influenced everyone from Leonard Bernstein to Philip Glass.
