Summertime is the finest time for jazz. This session hosts the saxophonist Oliver Stanton.
Four years ago Oliver guested at Stroud Jazz Sessions on his way to Birmingham Conservatoire with his then-quartet Twice William. Having aced his four years of study he returns, gunning for jazzy heights. Oliver's a punchy energetic bebopper with great style and rhythmic cultivation. Come to hear where the cutting edge of jazz is now at.
Oliver's opening performance will be followed by our usual energeti-frenetic jam for all-comers to play, sing, or listen.
Set in the comfortable subdued lounge setting, each will feature a performance by the house band and guest. Second Thursday of every month at SVA.
