Drawing is an accessible and dynamic artform because it doesn’t require vast amounts of space or resources. A drawing could be intuitively etched into the earth with a stick or it may require much intimate concentration in the studio. Creating art amidst a pandemic has been challenging but we have found a collective refuge in drawing. During this residency we aim to explore the possibilities of collaborative drawing by experimenting with size, medium and subject matter. We encourage others to draw with us and we will share exercises online and via the window at SVA.

This residency is part of a series which offer space and time to artists to make and show work in the gallery. Whilst the gallery is closed to the public, the residencies are viewable from the street and online. So keep an eye out on social media for updates or if you are passing the gallery.
