Dangervitch & Neptune: You Deserve the World But Sorry You Can’t Have It (Residency and Film Screening)

Dangervitch & Neptune are the alter-egos of two Stroud-based artists, Evie-Lola Minney and Jimmy Croft, who work collaboratively to produce direct and heartfelt multi-media works responding to the things that matter - justice, hope, defiance and newness.

The duo share their latest take on the world in the form of massive weird paintings. Their time in the gallery will see both the display and creation of new works.

Special opening and Film screening: Thursday 29th October 7.30pm

A screening of Dangervitch & Neptune films will take place in the gallery open for viewing.

Matthew will be exhibiting a series of works made intermittently over the last twenty years. Using what he refers to as a process of ‘call and response’ these small works use combinations of found materials to develop images that over time have formed the starting point for groups of larger works on paper and in cloth.

13 piece ensemble with 9 saxophones, led by Will Gregory, explore the canon of influential American composer Moondog (aka The Viking of Sixth Avenue), the blind American musician and composer, who influenced everyone from Leonard Bernstein to Philip Glass.

Trombonist, composer, bandleader, and a Tomorrow’s Warriors Emerging Artist, Christ-Stéphane Boizi is already making his mark on the London jazz scene, but his reputation is set to soar with the news that he has signed to Mark Kavuma’s Banger Factory Records label, with his debut LP As The Spirit Leads scheduled for release later in the year.
