Peter comes to Stroud to share the story of Loop:Frome: what it is, how it came into being, and where it’s headed and most importantly, how we might learn from it here in Stroud. Loop:Frome’s mission is to build a regenerative community. With a vision to “rescue the town nutrients”, it is starting with food waste, turning it into nutrient-rich compost.

Described as ‘absolutely incredible’ by BBC Radio 6 Music DJ/presenter Gilles Peterson. The group aims to celebrate the act of improvisation and free expression in the modern era. The compositions and playing style aim to present an alternative expression of the brilliance of jazz and improvised music, countering the mainstream trends in the jazz scene today.

New York’s Grammy nominated hammered dulcimer player Max ZT (House of Waters), and Tokyo/Black Country’s lauded Dan Whitehouse combine their inventive energy to create stunning live performancesm weaving spoken word, song and virtuoso playing to create impactful (often improvised) pieces with a belief in the healing power of music at its core.

Daniel Inzani is a composer, pianist and band leader based in Stroud, UK. For the past 2 decades Inzani has performed with dozens of bands from Bristol’s underground alternative and avant-garde scene, blending classical, jazz, contemporary, improvisation, unusual harmony and rhythms as a band leader and collaborator.

UK-based newcomer Sam Judd will be combining leftfield electronica, techno & breakbeats with enveloping sonic landscapes and evocative compositions. Memory Play (Josef Kašpar) performs an immersive and hypnotic live techno show that pushes at the boundaries of the genre.

Jazz Stroud - Reggae Dub System

Bristol-based Reggae label 'Poor Man's Friend' will be bringing their sound system to the Goods Shed along with their extended family for a night of Reggae music from across different decades played in a Rub A Dub authentic sound system style.

Once the Carnival parade lands at the Goods Shed we will open the bar up for an afternoon cocktails and a DJ set with Joicey DJ Collective. Joicey is an SVA led project which provides DJ skills, training and peer to peer support for women and transgender people in Stroud and Gloucester.
